Do You Know Who I Am? - Tatum O'Neal

The former child star had publicly claimed to have conquered her addictions to drugs and alcohol.
When held, she initially told New York police she was merely preparing for an acting role, adding: 'You know who I am, right? I'm researching a part  -  I'm doing this for a part.'

Genius.  Sheer genius.  And I expect nothing less from Amanda Whurlitzer.  Pulling the WIA, and following it up with research.  How else does an actress know what it's like to buy crack cocaine?

Do You Know Who I Am? - Montel Williams

Image: Montel WilliamsA thoughtful query caused Montel Williams to cancel an interview and later threaten the high school newspaper intern who asked the question, reports the Associated Press .
"I'm trying to figure out exactly why you are here and what the interview is about,” Montel snapped at Savannah Morning-News intern Courtney Scott.
The talk show host, in town to promote a free prescription drug program for low-income patients, ended the press event after Courtney asked if he thought that pharmaceutical companies would be discouraged from research and development if profits were restricted.
“I'm here as a patient advocate talking about the fact that medications available today are saving people's lives, that's what's saving mine and after that, this interview is done," the multiple sclerosis-afflicted Montel said before storming out.
Later, Montel confronted Courtney and crew at his hotel, while they were covering another story.
“As we were preparing to film, Montel walked up with his bodyguard and got in Courtney Scott's face pointing his finger telling her ‘Don't look at me like that. Do you know who I am? I'm a big star, and I can look you up, find where you live and blow you up’,” said Joseph Cosey, a Web content producer for the newspaper. “At this time he was randomly pointing at all of us.”

A real classic WIA right here.  While not used in a law-enforcement situation, Montel really knocked it out of the park with the whole "find where you live and blow you up" angle.  If we didn't know who you were then, we do now, Montel.

Do You Know Who I Am? - Rod Coleman

Rod ColemanAtlanta Falcons defensive tackle Rod Coleman was released on bond after he was arrested early Friday for misdemeanor disorderly conduct in DeKalb County. DeKalb Police spokesman Sgt. Charles Dedrick said Coleman "was verbally abusive" to a police officer.  Coleman was a passenger in a 2004 Land Rover pulled over for speeding at about 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 85 near Shallowford Road. Another passenger, Sean Watson, was also arrested for disorderly conduct.
Coleman was released after posting a $363 bond.
During the stop, the officer said he was telling the driver his car insurance was expired when Coleman said, "I wish you would touch my (expletive) truck. Do you know who I am? I play for the Falcons," according to the police report.

Ohhh, you play defensive tackle for the Falcons.  Umm, still no.

Do You Know Who I Am? - Glen Campbell

USA TODAY — Country singer Glen Campbell, whose hits included "Rhinestone Cowboy," struck another car while driving drunk and left the scene, then later kneed a police officer while demanding to see the police chief, authorities said Tuesday.

He posted bail on the charges of suspicion of extreme drunken driving and hit and run. While being processed at a police station, police said Campbell — minutes away from being released to waiting friends and family — became angry and kneed Sgt. Bill Niles in the thigh. Niles was not hurt.
That prompted police to arrest him again, on suspicion of assault. He was taken to jail and appeared in Superior Court just before midnight. A court commissioner, Steve Kupiszewski, placed him on supervised release, requiring him to check in periodically with court monitors, who could test him for alcohol and drugs.

"There was a lot of, 'Do you know who I am. I'm Glen Campbell' ... I shouldn't be locked up like this.' He asked to speak to the chief of police," Niles said.

It's true, he shouldn't be locked up like that.  His prison clothes should have rhinestones on them.

Do You Know Who I Am? - Moe Greene

Las Vegas, Nevada: Moe Greene, Las Vegas entrepreneur and recipient of the backing of one Vito Corleone, overplayed his hand in a classic confrontation with Vito's son and Don-to-be, Michael.

The dialogue was controlled, but edgy. Michael simply states, "The casino -- the hotel. Corleone Family wants to buy you out." Moe, incredulously replies, "The Corleone Family wants to buy me out? No -- I buy you out, you don't buy me out."

The back and forth goes on with Italian slurs, references to cocktail waitress banging and slapping around a Corleone. Michael, cool as ever, leaves Moe with these words, "I leave for New York tomorrow -- think about a price." Moe, angrily replies, "Sonofabitch!
Do you know who I am? I'm Moe Greene! I made my bones when you were going out with cheerleaders!"

Hey, Moe - Michael knows who you are.

Moe rolled craps when he decided to go against the family. Micheal came to make him an offer, an offer he shouldn't have refused. To date, the earliest use of the phrase with the most disastrous result. How did others not learn from Moe's mistake?
